Pistons finish road trip against Nets
Basketball Betting Lines
02/01/2012 -
(Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Detroit Pistons hope to solve their road issues tonight
in the finale of a four-game trek against the New Jersey Nets.
Detroit is 0-3 so far on the road trip and has lost six straight as the guest,
including Tuesdays 113-86 setback at New York in which Knicks star Carmelo
Anthony returned to the lineup to score 25 points.
Jonas Jerebko scored 15 points, while Greg Monroe had 13 points and 12
rebounds for the Pistons, losers of six straight overall and 10 of 11 games.
Detroit is just 1-11 as the guest.
"We have little chance to win when teams are shooting 50 percent from the
field or 60 percent from the field," said Pistons coach Lawrence Frank.
Frank's club will play its third straight game tonight in Newark, NJ. Frank,
of course, coached the Nets from 2004 until early on in the 2009-10 season.
The Nets have dropped back-to-back games since a season-high two-game winning
streak and hope to improve on their 2-6 home record tonight.
In Tuesday's 106-99 loss to the Indiana Pacers, Deron Williams netted a game-
high 34 points and Anthony Morrow added a season- high 28 points for New
Jersey.
"You don't want to get down 18 points and have to try to fight back,
especially against a good team like this. That's hard to do," Williams told
the team's website. "We battled back and cut it to three, I think, but just
weren't able to get over that hump."
Nets guard MarShon Brooks did not play due to a broken right little toe and
forward Mehmet Okur missed his third straight game because of a sore lower
back. DeShawn Stevenson is also hampered with a knee issue.
New Jersey and Detroit split four meetings a season ago, while the Pistons
have won 13 of the past 18 matchups in this series. However, Detroit has lost
three straight and five of its last six at New Jersey.

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch
Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.
Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.
"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
