Big South announces four-year extension with Stony BrookNCAA Football Betting Lines09/01/2010 - Charlotte, NC (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Big South Conference announced on Wednesday a four-year extension of a football agreement with associate football member Stony Brook. "Stony Brook has been an outstanding football member for the Big South Conference," said conference commissioner Kyle Kallander. "They have strong leadership, are a class act, and obviously are very competitive. We are thrilled to extend our relationship with the Seawolves." Stony Brook, though based in Long Island, has been a factor in the conference the last two seasons, compiling an 8-3 record while finishing as runner-up in 2008 and as co-champion in 2009. Head coach Chuck Priore was named Big South coach of the year last season. "Stony Brook is excited and honored to continue our relationship with the Big South Conference," said director of athletics Jim Fiore. "We have a tremendous amount of respect for the administrators, coaches and student-athletes who represent the conference." Cornerstone members of the football conference include Coastal Carolina, Liberty, Virginia Military Institute and Charleston Southern.
