Beltre expects to play in All-Star GameBaseball Betting Lines07/12/2010 - Anaheim, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Boston Red Sox third baseman Adrian Beltre told the team's website on Monday he is confident he will take part in Tuesday's All-Star Game. The news came just hours after American League manager Joe Girardi ruled Beltre out due to injury. Girardi said Beltre, who injured his left hamstring during Sunday's game at Toronto, was replaced by Texas' Michael Young. The New York skipper made the announcement at a press conference Monday after revealing the starting lineup and pitcher for the Mid-Summer Classic. According to the Boston Globe, Beltre was shocked to learn of Girardi's pronouncement because he had not ruled himself out. He tested his hamstring in batting practice and is likely ready to go.
